Nicknames

We named her Tesla after Nikola Tesla, who loved pigeons more than people. He lived alone in a New York City hotel, and would bring injured and sick pigeons back to his room and nurse them back to health. He fell in love with one of his rescues, a white female pigeon. She had a leg injury, and he built a device to help her walk again. One day she flew to him and died immediately.

We rarely called her Tesla. Most of the time, we called her Little Bird.
